Our verdict: a newsletter needs a reason to move
We would keep Kit for a straightforward creator newsletter that already sends reliably and uses its existing tags and forms. We would investigate beehiiv when the publication needs its newsletter publishing and growth workflow enough to rebuild those connections. A larger feature list is not the win: the win is an editorial task that becomes easier every week. Skip a paid newsletter platform if its discovery or monetization features are merely possibilities rather than tools you will use.
Name the job before the brand
Kit, MailerLite, and beehiiv all publish a free broadcast path. A move is only useful when a named job on the current sender is missing: timed sequences, a subscriber ceiling, or a paid-plan feature you can point to on the vendor page.
This article does not rank tools. On 2026-09-15 the Max trial editor returned an in-app Test email sent receipt for an operator message to this publication's own address. Inbox placement was not opened. Prices below were recaptured on 2026-09-15 and can change at checkout.
| Job | Published beehiiv note | Keep current if |
|---|---|---|
| Subscriber broadcasts | Launch listed $0, up to 2,500 subscribers on https://www.beehiiv.com/pricing | The current free sender already delivers the list. |
| Paid growth features | FAQ on the same page: paid plans start at $49/month. Scale displayed $43/mo billed annually ($517/year). | You cannot name the paid feature you would use. |
| Affiliate terms | Partner page: 50% of referred paid fees for 12 months, up to 60% by tier, $15,000 cap per referral. | Compare the required newsletter feature and full invoice before upgrading. |
What this page does not establish
We observed an in-app test-send acknowledgement. We did not check the receiving inbox, run a subscriber campaign or measure migration effort.
Confirm the live checkout for your subscriber count and the exact paid feature you need. If broadcasts already work in your current sender, there may be no reason to move.

When is a paid beehiiv plan worth considering?
When a feature or allowance your newsletter needs is unavailable on Launch. Check the plan for your subscriber count and compare the full renewal invoice with your budget.
Have you tested beehiiv sending?
The beehiiv Max trial editor displayed “Test email sent” for one message to an address we control on September 15, 2026. We did not check the receiving inbox. This was not a subscriber campaign or a paid-plan test; the pricing comparison is based on documentation reviewed that day.
