Choose a reason to trial before importing a list

A useful comparison starts with a failed task: the wrong people enter a sequence, an exclusion is hard to inspect, or the next paid tier no longer fits the budget. Write one requirement and the result you expect. A new editor alone does not establish that a move is worthwhile.

Moosend documents an email editor, segmentation, forms, and automation workflows. Its pricing page offers a 30-day trial without a credit card and prices plans using contact counts. Check the plan you would buy after the trial, including any feature restrictions. These are published capabilities, not our test results.

Run the same small case in both tools

Use a separate test list and addresses you control. Keep the live welcome sequence running in only its current platform. Write down the entry event, a delay, the message, and the exit rule before reproducing them in Moosend. Avoid importing the real audience during this comparison.

Create four clearly labeled cases: a new eligible signup, an existing subscriber, someone who has opted out, and an address missing a required field. Predict whether each should enter, receive, or skip the message. Then compare the actual recipient preview and activity log with that prediction. Do not send to an opted-out real contact to test exclusion.

Separate a recipient problem from an authentication problem

If the recipient never enters the workflow, inspect the trigger, filters, and existing membership before changing the sending domain. If the activity log shows a send but delivery is unclear, inspect the message headers and authentication configuration. Switching providers does not by itself fix a mismatched domain or establish inbox placement.

For an existing MailerLite workflow, its documentation describes delay, condition, and A/B-test rules, with conditions including groups, segments, and custom fields. Compare the rule you actually use with the corresponding Moosend workflow rather than assuming similarly named controls behave identically. Compare the bill after the trial

Record your billable contact count now and a plausible larger count. On Moosend's pricing page, select those counts and the billing interval you can afford. The page says one unique email address appearing in multiple lists or segments is billed once. Verify how your intended plan treats the other contact states before estimating costs.

Write the amount charged today, the next renewal, and the cost of any services you would still keep. Divide an annual invoice by twelve only to compare rates; the money due now remains the full annual charge. We do not quote a single paid price here because the contact count and billing interval determine the relevant offer.

Make the switch decision from the results

Move only if the trial resolves the named gap, the expected recipients and exclusions match, and the real renewal bill fits. Before a live migration, preserve consent and suppression records, copy original content, and compare the test exports. Agree on which system owns each active sequence during the handoff.

Stay with the current platform if you cannot demonstrate an improvement. A working MailerLite setup does not need replacing just because another platform offers a trial. End the evaluation with a written decision: keep, move after the missing check passes, or stop because the required capability is absent.
